Mr. Oren Gershtein
VAN LEER TECHNOLOGY VENTURES - JERUSALEM LTD. (formerly HITEC HAR
HOTZVIM), located in Jerusalem, is one of Israel's leading high
technology incubators and one of Israel's leading early stage
investment centers.
VAN LEER TECHNOLOGY VENTURES - JERUSALEM (VLVJ) looks for leading
entrepreneurs with innovative technology addresses to large and
fast growing markets.
The Center was established in 1992 by a consortium of notable
sponsors, such as Intel, Teva Pharmaceuticals, AVX, Motorola and
the Jerusalem Development Authority. Today much of the Center's
activities are supported by its investors, Docor International
BV, an industrial investment fund and The Jerusalem Development
Authority, a joint government/municipal corporation.
MISSION

FOCUS
VLVJ has elected to focus on technologies in a number of select
sectors so as to allow for the provision of better services to

VLVJ TEAM
* Dr. Alon Dumanis, Ph.D., Aerospace Engineering, Purdue
University, U.S.A. - Chairman of the Board. CEO, Docor
International Management, a Dutch Venture Capital fund and a
subsidiary of The Van-Leer Foundation. After serving as the Head
of The Material Command in the Israel Air Force, rank of
Brigadier General, Dr. Dumanis has been involved in several
international ventures, offering leadership in business
development and entrepreneurial and technology management of
companies in the information, aviation, electronics and emerging
technology sectors. Dr. Dumanis has received a number of honors
and awards, including the Purdue University "Outstanding
Aerospace Engineer of 2001 Award."
* Oren Gershtein - CEO
Oren has vast and varied experience as VP of finance and
operations, in business development management, and economic
analyst. Oren served as an economist and analyst at Singer and
Even Ltd. Following Singer and Even Ltd., Oren was nominated as
Deputy General Manager of the Jerusalem Software Incubator Ltd. a
subsidiary of Zeevi Computer and Technology Ltd., a Tel Aviv
Stock Exchange company. In his last position Oren conducted as a
VP of Finance and Operations in the JVP Studio L.P., a subsidiary
of Jerusalem Venture Partners. Oren holds a B.Sc in Business
management specializing in finance.
* Shlomi Schwartzblat - VP Business Development & Projects
Shlomi is responsible for recruiting new ventures and for the
business development of VLVJ. Shlomi has vast and varied
experience in business development, strategic planning, system
engineering, R&D in diverse areas, industrial engineering and IT
systems. Prior to his role, he served in the Israeli Air Force.
During his military career, Shlomi served in major technological
roles such as management of two UAV (Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle)
projects and the UAV technological roadmap. In addition, he led
new technological ventures and managed the radar and UAV
technology center. Prior to these roles, he was a special
consultant to the head of the material command in the IAF. Shlomi
holds a BSc in Engineering and a Masters in Business
Administration.
* Shmulik Ravid, MA in Sociology, majoring in Counselling and
Organizational Development.
- Organizational Consultant
Mr. Ravid guides management teams in establishing sound strategic
planning processes, implementing smooth management changes,
assessing employees, developing leadership, and group training.
Mr. Ravid's expertise includes coaching and consulting to large,
complex organizations and start-up companies. He has worked for
more than 20 years with companies like Teva, Daxon and Coca-Cola,
and served 6 years as Chief Organizational Consultant to the
Israeli Air force.
INVESTORS
The Center has two primary investors:
* Docor International B.V. - an international industrial
investment fund, a subsidiary of the Van Leer Group Foundation,
which is a charitable foundation.
* The Jerusalem Development Authority (JDA) - a joint
government/municipal corporation whose main function is the
initiation and support of projects that serve to enhance the
economic development of the city of Jerusalem.
MAIN ACTIVITY
VLVJ assists its entrepreneurs to develop, manufacture and market
technologically innovative products by providing:
* Early stage funding targeted in achieving valuable mile stone
for continues funding in Rond A with additional VC's.
* Technical, managerial organizational and business support;
* Assistance in market and business development;
* Financing and assistance in raising investments;
* Ready access to governmental bodies in Israel;
* A corporate reputation that is valuable when making contact
with industrial and financial organizations;
* On-site facilities, administration and office services.
