PROJECT SUMMARY
CartiCure develops a method to transplant porcine derived hyaline
cartilage tissue into human joints. A novel proprietary
technology allows to derive viable cartilage cells, treat them
with the company's method and to transplant them into human
joints. This treatment allows a cure for people suffering from
trauma (injuries) or from osteoarthritis.
APPLICATIONS:
CARTIMOVE - a mature cartilage tissue, produced in the dish,
ready to be transplanted into damaged joints. Its advantages will
shorten the rehabilitation period and simplify the
transplantation procedure through minor invasiveness when being
implanted, and meaningful reduction of morbidity and costs.
ENTREPRENEURS
Dr. Gila Maor - CSO, senior
teaching associate at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion
University in Haifa, Israel.
Mr. Barouch Bahat - CEO, experienced
executive in the domain of industrial management and finance.
PROJECT STATUS
The company was established in 2005 and has completed in-vivo
trials in goats. CartiCure is preparing for Clinical Trials in
Human.
The company has files two patents.
COOPERATION REQUIRED
The company is seeking initial funds of USD 1.5 Million to
pursue its regulatory pathway and clinical trials in order to
enter the market ( 2010) on time in order to capture the enormous
market potential available currently.
