Project title: COMPOSITE MATERIAL PRODUCTS BASED ON COMMINGLED PLASTIC AND PAPER
Company name : *** CYCLETEC RECYCLING TECHNOLOGIES LTD.
TECHNOLOGIES LTD.
TECHNOLOGICAL FIELD
Environment, Recycling Technologies
KEY WORDS
Recycling, Commingled,
Plastic, Paper
PROJECT SUMMARY
CYCLETEC is developing a technology for manufacturing products
based on recycled commingled plastic and paper as raw material.
The process eliminates the need to stabilize the mix in a molten
state and takes advantage of the exclusive ability to achieve a
homogenous and stable product, without achieving full melt.
During the process chemical bonds are created between the
different phases, thus yielding an advanced composite material
containing reinforcement, matrix, impact absorption areas etc. A
structure thus can be created to suite various needs depending on
final property requirements. The material has high dimensional
stability and extraordinary resistance to solvents and water - in
spite of its high cellulose content.
A unique and advanced compound of coupling agents and
compatibility enhancers, which is able to adjust itself to a wide
range of plastic materials (PE, PP, PS, PET, PVC, NYLON), fibers
and fillers, organic and inorganic (cellulose, glass,
wolastonite, mica, chalk, talc, ceramics, ground construction
waste, tire rubber powder etc.) is utilized in the process.
ADVANTAGES:
* Low cost, as the raw material is based on commingled plastic
and paper waste after size reduction and no sorting.
* Enhanced mechanical properties, as the cellulose reinforces the
mixture (Flexural strength 38-50 MPa, Flexural modulus 2600-3600
MPa).
ENTREPRENEURS
Mr. Mike Gross - B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering.
Mr. Izhar Halahmi - M.Sc. Chemistry, the inventor.
PROJECT STATUS
Since its graduation from the incubator, the company has held
several investment rounds. There has been great interest
demonstrated for the new material currently being manufactured by
the company. Recently new equipment has been purchased and being
constructed at a major paper manufacturing plant, the system will
recycle the paper into the rollers for the paper rolls.
COOPERATION REQUIRED
The company seeks cooperation with leading recycling companies
and manufacturers of plastic products from recycled materials.
