PROJECT SUMMARY
The Silver Ions Bone Infection Treatment (SIBIT) of ORTHO-ION
LTD. is a new system and method for the treatment of
osteomyelitis (OM) and chronic osteomyelitis (COM). The method is
based on the antibacterial characteristics of the electrically
released silver ions, overcoming the disadvantages of the local
and short term solutions used today while assuring a long term
and spreading effect of the treatment.

method that is reliable, easy to practice, effective and cost
effective.

Dr. Liat Schwartz - Ph.D., Director; vast
experience in bio-medical engineering.
Prof. Meir Nyska - Medical Director,
specialist in orthopedic surgery; Head of Orthopedic Surgery
Department at Meir General Hospital, Kfar-Saba, Israel.
Dr. Valentin Barski -MD, Ph.D., the inventor of
the method. Orthopedic specialist, with more than 50 years of
practice in orthopedic surgery.

PROJECT STATUS
The company was established on May 2007.
The proof of concept phase has been completed in a series of
animal trials. The safety and performance of the method have been
successfully proven. The company is completing the marketing plan
and is already looking for investment required to bring the
prototype to a final system and to perform clinical trials.

COOPERATION REQUIRED
ORTHO-ION is interested to cooperate with opinion leaders in the
field of OM, with VCs and health systems marketing chains.
