Project title: REAL-TIME DETECTION OF BACTERIA IN URINE
Company name : BACTERIOSCAN
TECHNOLOGICAL FIELD
Medical Instrumentation,
Diagnostics
KEY WORDS
Real-Time Detection,
Urine, Bacteria, UTI, Diagnosis
PROJECT SUMMARY
Development of a diagnostic device and method for diagnosis of
Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) in real-time by on-the-spot
testing of urine samples - as opposed to present bacterial
culture methods that give results only after 2 or more days.
ADVANTAGES
Physicians will be able to diagnose and treat suspected urinary
tract infections (UTI) properly and on time and avoid the use of
unnecessary antibiotics when a test determines on-the-spot that
there is no infection. Laboratories will be able to screen
negative urine samples (80% of the cases) and avoid costly
bacterial cultures.
