Educational Assessment
PROJECT SUMMARY
Evaluation of learning disabilities is carried out routinely in
about 15% of children in educational frameworks in the developed
countries. Today the evaluations are performed by specially
trained testers in a process that requires a one-on-one
encounter of a tester and a pupil.
ALJAMIADO LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES LTD. is developing an interactive
computerized system for assessment of learning disabilities
employing eight criteria for children between the ages of 3-8.
Two products are being developed for two separate end user
groups. The
Ready2Learn - ALJAMIADO School Readiness Assessment kit product
targets parents who wish to assess the abilities and school
readiness level of their children.
The Ready2Learn Pro- product targets teachers and assessors who
perform more thorough assessments on children and require more
detailed reporting on the child.
The system is designed to permit the Assessor/Parent to
simultaneously evaluate a
number of pupils and to receive objective and accurate results.
The system also permits the user to interrupt at any stage and to
change the course of the test according to his judgment.
ADVANTAGES
* The computer scores the child's performance instantaneously and
gives an
immediate print-out of results.
* The program incorporates an expert system that provides basic
recommendations on areas of learning that require most attention.
* The Ready2Learn modules are adaptive, the computer
automatically adjusting the items to the child's level of
performance. This makes assessment very efficient, saving time,
and avoiding frustration on the part of the child.
* The Ready2Learn assessment tasks incorporate standardized norms
to give objective and accurate results.
* Raise the self-image and self-confidence of the pupil.
* Develop the feeling of "I can" and "I'm independent", just like
the other children.
* Assessment utilizing attractive activities.
* Provides a pleasant, warm and non-judgmental atmosphere.
* Possible to assess a larger number of pupils simultaneously.
