PROJECT SUMMARY
VOCALTAG will develop, produce and market a computerized rumen
sound monitor to collect, process and analyze bovine chewing
sound data in order to acquire previously unavailable information
so as to be able to improve milk production and overall health of
herds of cows and other commercially grown ruminants.

ADVANTAGES
* Provides daily information regarding the metabolic process of
each cow in the herd;
* Reduces the incidence of clinical and sub-clinical metabolic
diseases;
* Increases in the general health of the herd by preventing
acidosis, laminitis, ketosis, milk fever and others;
* Enables preparation of feeding programs containing the
effective amount of fiber in each meal - feed costs currently
account for more than 50% of milk production costs,
* Prevents losses of calves as a result of difficult unassisted
calving,
* Increased milk production resulting in increased profits.

ENTREPRENEURS
Mr. Avshalom (Avi) Bar-Shalom - Eighteen years of
hands-on experience in management of the dairy herd of Kibbutz
Nachsholim.
Dr. Gideon Inzler - D.V.M.
Doctorate earned at the University of Bern, Switzerland in 1969.
Thirty years of experience in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Ofer Kroll - Ph.D.,
Expert in animal nutrition, Chairman of the Israel National
Committee for Bovine Nutrition, 25 research papers on the subject
of nutrition as well as feeding manuals.

PROJECT STATUS
Project began incubator period in January 2000. First prototype
completed. Field trials in progress.
