PROJECT SUMMARY
Friction Control Solutions Ltd. (FriCSo) develops a unique and
innovative technology, Combined Micro-Relief (CMR), for wear and
friction reduction in mechanical parts.
CMR is based on a combination of two different surface
treatments:
* Vibro-grooving by plastic deformation.
* Special Lapping.
The vibro-grooving serves as a reservoir for the lubricant and
for wear particles, as well, hence improving wear conditions.
The special lapping improves surface hardness and causes the
lubricant film to be repelled from the surface between the
grooves, and so, apply force, which separates between the
friction pair parts.
CMR is most effective at poor lubrication condition and/or low
speeds, where hydrodynamic conditions do not exist.
The potential market for the CMR technology is any field in which
wear and friction costs are high enough.
FriCSo could market its product through two channels: servicing
companies by applying its technology on their products, or design
and build machines and devices that will apply the technology as
part of the client's production line.

PROJECT STATUS
The project was launched on July 2003. It was granted a second
year support.
The company raised over 1 million$ is two rounds: seed and VC
investments.
The technology is now being tested at the major automotive
companies in the United States, such as Caterpillar, Ford, Dana
Corporation, Kingsbury, Eaton and more. Caterpillar tests have
proven improvement of tens of percents in friction coefficient
and load.
FriCSo started negotiations with a major automotive company in
Europe regarding applying its technology, after the technology
was tested at the company's laboratories and found to be superior
to any other known surface treatment.
A patent is filed in USA. A PCT application was filed in Europe

COOPERATION REQUIRED
