PROJECT SUMMARY
ConTIPI Ltd., an Israeli medical device start-up, is developing a
series of disposable vaginal devices that dramatically reduce or
prevent urinary incontinence. ConTIPI's products provide a
discrete, comfortable, hygienic and odorless solutions for women
suffering from mild to moderate stress urinary incontinence, for
those who leak urine during high impact physical activities, and
for those who experience pelvic organ prolapse. Clinical results
from the first ConTIPI product have been promising and the
Company is now preparing to apply for an FDA approval and CE-Mark
which will enable it to market its product in the USA, Europe and
Israel.
TARGET MARKET
Urinary incontinence, an involuntary loss of urine, is an
unpleasant, costly and common woman's health condition that
affects almost a third of women aged 18 to 65. Those suffering
from stress urinary incontinence ("SUI"), which constitutes about
two-thirds of women suffering from urinary incontinence, live in
fear of having an accident in public. This leads to an avoidance
of activities that affects careers, relationships and a woman's
overall sense of herself. A range of surgical or minimally
invasive procedures and behavior modification techniques may be
used to treat SUI; however, most sufferers do not seek medical
treatment and manage the problem using sanitary pads or other
urine absorption methods. The global market for disposable adult
incontinence products is estimated at $5.3 billion. The annual
costs of incontinence treatments in the USA alone are estimated
at $20 billion.
