Project title: ORTHOTIC PRODUCTION ACCORDING TO 3D ANALYSIS AND DIAGNOSIS OF THE FOOT
Company name : S.A.T - SOL ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES LTD.
TECHNOLOGIES LTD.
TECHNOLOGICAL FIELD
Biomechanical, Orthopaedic
KEY WORDS
Biomechanical, Insole, Orthotic,
Orthopaedic, Tooling
PROJECT SUMMARY
Sol Advanced Technologies is developing a comprehensive,
objective and fully digitized solution to increase the delivery
of orthotics - from clinically improved diagnosis to near
real-time manufacture of custom-designed products.
Based on an advanced proprietary technology, Sol has developed a
computerized adjustable mold, which will facilitate near
real-time fabrication of highly customized foot orthotics, based
on data received from an ancillary diagnostic system.
Sol also starts developing a scanner for diagnosing the 3D
topography of the foot. The developing of the scanner is done
according to requirements by a leading U.S. company. The
development and the marketing will be done in cooperation with
this company.
By cooperating with a leading Israeli company, in the field of
Polystyrene, Sol has developed an adjustable mold for the
production of small quantities and prototypes of Polystyrene
products.
ENTREPRENEURS
Dr. Shammy Sagiv - D.C., a fully licensed
Chiropractor, over 10 years of experience. Expert lecturer in the
field of the Bio-Mechanics of the foot.
Mr. Ilan Ehrenfeld - Senior Computer
Engineer
Mr. Moshe Ben-Haim - Senior Mechanical Engineer
managing mechanical projects
Mr. Armando Nowominski - CPA, experience in managing
funds and in business consultancy.
PROJECT STATUS
The project was launched on June 2002.
* Negotiation with leading orthotics manufacturers to establish
strategic partnerships.
* The adjustable mold and technology has been presented to a
leading European manufacturer, who has expressed a serious
interest in distributing Sol's technology in Europe.
Prototype of the adjustable mold has been developed. Successful
tests conducted at the Israeli company.
Beta version completed. Initial beta tests included:
(1)Production of orthotics using the adjustable mold in vacuum
forming and (2) orthotics produced using polypropylene and
graphite.
* Polyurethane orthotics have been produced using a general 3D
Minolta scanner.
* Some other shapes (not orthotics) were produced using the mold.
The shapes where taken by the following techniques: 1. Scanning
by a "Minolta" 3D scanner. 2. Drawing a plan by Solid Works
software. 3. By user interface.
* In light of the success of the Beta testing, Sol has progressed
to the final development stage of the product for the first
version, and the transition from development to production.
COOPERATION REQUIRED
Strategic alliance, joint venture capital.
