PROJECT SUMMARY
DSPV develops an image recognition server for the application of
mobile visual search - enabling a camera phone user to select
content or services using the camera of the phone as the input
device. Unlike existing schemes, no changes or additions to the
existing printed/displayed media are required - no barcodes or
other marks or machine readable codes are used. Rather, the
actual image of the advertisement, product etc. is compared to
the database in the server for the recognition purposes.

PROJECT STATUS
Image recognition engine server with initial capabilities exists
and has been used in several commercial pilots in Israel and
Europe. Development continues in 3G interfaces, more advanced
recognition capabilities and platform completion (logging,
management, fault tolerance etc.).
