PROJECT SUMMARY

PRODUCT:
The Speak-Easy language training system is an original
method for self-learning of languages. It addresses the
limitations of existing language learning methods. The system
includes two volumes (separate products) each containing 50
lessons as well as printed materials and an interactive device.
The system makes use of speech recognition technology. The course
focuses solely on spoken language, thereby improving language
acquisition time and memory retention. The system's interactive
nature and its animation allow for interesting and interactive
learning facilitating longer language retention. The Speak-Easy
course is suitable for use with video, CD-ROM, data-over-cable
and Internet and can be easily adapted for various languages.

MARKET
The world market for technological language learning products
(software, etc.) is expected to reach US $900 million by the year
2000. The market segment to be initially targeted for the
Speak-Easy system is that of adults seeking to acquire spoken
mastery of a new language quickly and in the comfort of the home
environment. Potential users include business people with
international contacts, diplomats, vacationers, etc. The system
will be marketed worldwide, initially in Western Europe, US and
Japan.

ENTREPRENEURS
Ms. Ruth Groiss - Inventor and entrepreneur,
M.A. in Public Policy from Harvard University, B.A. in Arabic
Language and Literature from the Hebrew University.
Ms. Stella Syrkin - B.A. in English and
French Language and Literature from the Hebrew University, fluent
in 6 languages, experience in informal education.

PROJECT STATUS
The project is in the second year of the incubation period.
The Company has completed a pilot version for demonstrating the
uniqueness of the method. The pilot will be presented to
potential partners and investors.
A patent has been filed in the USA and Israel for the interactive
device.

COOPERATION REQUIRED
The Company is currently seeking an investment of US $250,000 -
US $500,000 for continuing development of the initial system.
Strategic partnerships with established publishers and
distributors of language products as well as cable companies are
also sought for marketing and distribution of the Speak-Easy
system.
