PROJECT SUMMARY
The product is a device for patients having insufficient function
of the kidneys. The device improves solute clearance and fluid
drainage in Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) by applying external
vibrating forces on the abdominal wall. Use of the device
enhances the dialysis rate and can improve quality of life for
patients. The device is portable, noninvasive, and simple to
operate. It has no diverse side effects. Using it may enable some
patients, currently treated by Hemodialysis to switch to PD.

MARKET
Peritoneal Dialysis is used by approximately 110,000 patients
worldwide. Approximately 700,000 patients are currently being
treated by Hemodialysis. Peritoneal Dialysis market is estimated
as US $1 billion for 1997, with an annual growth rate of 8%. The
market is dominated by several leading multinational companies
and large chains of dialysis clinics.

ENTREPRENEUR
Dr. Yehuda Zicherman - inventor, D.Sc. in
Mechanical Engineering and Physiology, ten years of industrial
and academic experience in R&D of biomedical instruments.

PROJECT STATUS
The project has finished its incubation period and since 1997
operates independently.
Clinical trials are being performed at leading dialysis clinics
in Europe and Canada, and the Company is exploring application of
the device for treatment of constipation.
Leading companies in the dialysis have performed marketing
evaluation trials and patents have been filed and registered.

COOPERATION REQUIRED
The Company has received initial funding from the Office of the
Chief Scientist and from private investors. Strategic partners
are sought for participation in clinical trials and/or for
marketing the device.
