PROJECT SUMMARY
LARTIM MEDICAL LTD. is a medical device company developing a
novel approach to mitral valve repair in ischemic mitral
regurgitation.

Cardiovascular Therapy. Approximately 475,000 new ischemic mitral
regurgitation (MR) patients are diagnosed every year in the US.
Ischemic MR is caused by myocardial infraction and severely
affects cardiovascular mortality and morbidity. Ischemic MR
results from remodeling of the left ventricle (LV) that alters
the geometrical relationship between the ventricle and valve
apparatus, leading to displacement of the papillary muscles,
annular dilatation and therefore tethering of the mitral leaflets
and whole valve distortion. A number of surgical techniques have
been developed, including the restricted annuloplasty. However,
these techniques have not improved survival rates and are subject
to a high incidence of late failure. Lartim's novel technology
will focus on altering the geometrical relationship by relocating
the valve using a unique stapler device.

PROJECT STATUS
The Company was founded in March 2008. Lartim operates within
the Meytav Technological Incubator. A set of patents in various
stages of examination.
