PROJECT SUMMARY
SIMPOD TECHNOLOGIES is developing an affordable and easy to use
Hardware Design system that supports the following modes of
operation:
* All-in-one single system for ASIC prototype
* Efficient and easy to use Hardware / Software co-verification
system
* FPGA development and emulation platform
* Post silicon validation and test vector generation

THE MARKET
The emulation and logical simulation acceleration is divided into
two sections. The first section is composed of companies that
purchase the solutions from specialist companies as an
off-the-shelf solution. Such systems cost between US $1M and US
$10M and the market for this type of solution is around US $300M
per annum.
The second section is composed of Ad-hoc solutions, where
companies build their own emulation and acceleration solutions
independently, so as to reduce the aforementioned expenses. Even
with independent solutions, costs reach about US $300K per
system. The market for this section is estimated at US $360M per
annum. The proposed product (HADS-1) will be able to fit both in
the off-the-shelf solutions section, and in the independent
solutions section.
The market for integration of hardware-software prior to
manufacturing the hardware is estimated at US $100M per annum.
The market for First Silicon validation is estimated at US $150M
per annum.
The total size of the combined target markets for the HADS-1
product is therefore about US $910M per year.
