PROJECT SUMMARY
YAMIT BIOTECHNOLOGIES LTD. is developing a new, biological,
non-antibiotic therapeutic for the prevention and treatment of
mastitis pathogens in dairy cows through the use of
multi-functional immuno-protective treatment. The biological
product comprises a specific antibody against the target
pathogen, and a biological component which induces the
non-specific immune system of the mammary gland thus, ruling out
the invading microbes.
The biological product that YAMIT is developing consists of a
multi-functional unit carrying specific antibodies against the
invading mastitis pathogens. Another biological element induces
the immune system of the mammary gland to reject the
bind-pathogen complex and discharge it during milking.
When the proper antibodies are administered into the unhealthy
quarter, or udder, at the onset of the inflammation, the pathogen
will be destroyed quickly, a minimal amount of milk will be
disposed and the cow will recuperate rapidly. By this treatment,
only minimal quantity of milk, the equivalent of two milkings,
needs to be thrown out, in contrast to antibiotic treatment where
the milk is lost for a week or more because of antibiotic residue
in it.
YAMIT's alternative to the currently most utilized mastitis
treatment has many advantages, including faster recovery time of
the cow after administration of treatment, quicker improvement of
quality of milk (lower SCC), no antibiotic residue and it is
produced from a natural source.

YAMIT's vision is to become one of the leading companies in the
development and production of natural, non-antibiotic treatments
for mastitis, saving the dairy industry millions of dollars
annually. In the future, the company will extend its platform
proprietary technology for development and production of
additional non-antibiotic products for animal health care.
