PROJECT SUMMARY
IBD therapy is based upon Salicylate derivatives and Steroidal
drugs. A high-dose or chronic administration of corticosteroids
is counter-indicated due to severe side effects. The company's
novel approach involves the usage of negatively-charged liposomes
to target steroids to the inflamed colonic mucosa and provide
means for controlled release of these drugs. This approach will
enable the prolonged low dose administration of corticosteroids,
providing effective therapy with minimal side effects.
