PROJECT SUMMARY
Cardiovascular diseases represent the leading cause of death in
the industrialized world. Just in the US about 1 million annual
deaths are caused by acute, or chronic, heart failure affecting
around 5 million Americans. 400K to 500K new cases are diagnosed
each year. Many, severe heart condition patients actually die due
to Renal Failure!

Acute Renal Failure is accountable for about 30% of total ICU
patients and for 50% of the overall mortality rate that could be
as high as 80% in ICU settings.

DROPS is developing the only minimally invasive, bed side applied
device for effective improvement of renal function, even in most
critical situations.

Company's mission is to set up new standards of care for the
failing kidney in order to preserve or restore renal function in
settings that would otherwise lead to acute failure and fluid
overload.

PROJECT STATUS
The project started its incubator period in 2004.
The Company is currently optimizing the performance of a concept
that has already been tested in animal and has shown most
promising human results.
