PROJECT SUMMARY
The company develops an irrigation system, which will not only
optimize the control of water flow in the field, but also will
feed the irrigation system the proper amount of water and/or
fertilization level according to the physical condition of the
irrigated crops.
The product development follows an intensive research performed
by Prof. Bravdo and Dr. Sharon for several years. A study was
made to characterize the need for water as a function of some
physical, sensible attributes of the irrigated plant. The
advantage of the proposed system relative to existing irrigation
control system is that a Real Time evaluation is done by the
system with regard to the necessity of water at the plant level
("the end user").

Main ADVANTAGES of the developed system:
* Water is supplied with full automation according to the real
time need of the crops.
* Savings and efficiency are achieved.
* The system can sense specific properties of the plant and
subsequently respond with appropriate water and fertilization to
control unique behavioral features of the crops.

PROJECT STATUS
The company started its incubator period in April 1999 and it is
in the second year of incubator period. Working prototypes have
been designed and tested.
Field tests performed for several years with different types
revealed a substantial saving in the water quantity while
increasing crop yield . Water savings reach 25%-40% with
different crops while crop yield increases by 10%-15%.
The invention is presently protected by a PCT application WO
98/33037.
