PROJECT SUMMARY
CURAPIPE SYSTEM LTD. develops a novel technology and method for
internal repair and maintenance of pipelines for pumping
petroleum products . CURAPIPE's technology constitutes a
technologically novel and cost-saving solution for pipeline
maintenance and repair from the inside of a pipe without
requiring its disassembly and minimizing disruption in pipeline
activity.

CURAPIPE's technology involves the introduction of particular
proprietary materials into the pipeline and moving them along the
pipeline by means of the pipeline pressure. The unique composites
enter even minute cracks, reacting with each other to provide a
hard and durable seal, like that of a stopper. The result is a
smooth steel-like surface throughout the pipeline.

MARKET
700,000 km of Petroleum pipelines carry more than 100 million
barrels per day most of them pass the age of 40 years.
During pipe lifecycle, corrosion and wearing create small cracks
and holes along the pipes. And the pipeline owners spend about
US$3.3B/year for maintenance.

The environment is increasingly threatened by an ageing and
expanding pipeline network. The risk of leakage from corrosion
increases as pipelines age and wear, remaining active beyond
(superseding) their intended lifetime. The risk of damage caused
to pipes increases as the fuel transport market reaches new
heights. As such, new government regulations are placing
increasing demands on pipeline operators to maintain pipeline
integrity. CURAPIPE provides pipeline operators with a convenient
and inexpensive solution.

PROJECT STATUS
CURAPIPE is ATI Cleantech company group, in its second year of
technological incubator program.CURAPIPE successfully achieved
proof of concept on a laboratory model at low pressure. In
inserting the patented compounds into a pipe, the compounds
successfully located, entered and sealed a 5mm crack. The solid
material has been tested at a pressure of 300 bar.
