Project title: PULVERIZATION OF HUMAN SALIVARY GLAND STONES

Company name : SIALO-LITE LTD.

TECHNOLOGICAL FIELD
Minimally invasive, endoscopic
surgical devices

KEY WORDS
Salivary Gland Stones,
Lithotripsy, Endoscope, Laser, TMJ, Temporomandibular Joint

PROJECT SUMMARY
The SIALO-LITE project is based on proprietary technology for the
endoscopic pulverization of human salivary gland stones. The
technology is also applicable to the treatment of the
temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome. The the system comprises
an endoscope for access and visualization of the salivary ducts
and glands, an integrated laser delivery system for stone
pulverization and a cooling system to maintain the ZOOMIXy of
surrounding soft tissues.

ADVANTAGES
* Minimally invasive surgery to replace open surgical procedures
* Out-patient procedure under local anesthesia
* Fast recovery that will reduce hospitalization costs
* No cosmetic disfigurement
* No risk to facial nerve
* Highly cost effective - The system is adapted to fit all types
of laser devices which already exist in most hospitals and
private clinics
* Versatility adaptation to current laser devices

APPLICATIONS
AND TARGET MARKETS
Treatment for stones in the salivary glands and ducts, per annum
worldwide, amounts to 100,000 cases. 10,8 million people in the
U.S. requires treatment for the TMJ syndrome each year. 1% of
those treated will require a subsequent surgical procedure. This
amounts to 300,000 - 375,000 cases per year worldwide.

The current available treatment is in-patient surgery which
involves trauma to the tissues that surround the treated area,
and resulting in a prolonged and uncomfortable convalescence. The
Sialo Lite procedure will eliminate problems associated with the
current surgical techniques. The system's two major applications:
* Pulverization of salivary gland stones.
* Treatment of TMJ Syndrome.

Future applications:
* pulverization of kidney stones
* dental treatment
