PROJECT SUMMARY
The dressing contains non cross-linked collagen for accelerated
wound recovery. The non cross-linked collagen is a soft gel that
needs a flexible and strong support agent that may be used as
part of the dressing.
The support agent developed is of natural origin and authorized
for medical use that forms a uniform, flexible and strong surface
with the non cross-linked collagen. This dressing allows for a
homogeneous penetration of drugs through it, which is a great
advantage. This allows for drug administration without removing
the bandage.
The R&D involves optimizing the combination of the support agent
with the non cross-linked collagen for use as a commercial
shelf-product.

ADVANTAGES
* Efficient and quick wound recovery.
* Slow homogenous release of drugs that may be injected through
the bandage.
* Existing dressing products contain cross-linked, rather than
non cross-linked, collagen. This turns the dressing hard and
somewhat inert and, consequently, with no biological activity.

With the increase in average age in the Western world, in the
quality of life and in the number of patients requiring surgical
intervention, the market of dressing materials is an ever-growing
market. The dressing features an additional economic value to
that of direct medical value - it accelerates the patient's
functional recovery.
