PROJECT SUMMARY
Pervaporation is a membrane process applied to solvent separation
and in which one solvent permeates the membrane as vapor. Where
existing technologies struggle with limitations, Pervasiv meets
the acute need for a cost-effective and environmentally safe
recovery process for spent solvents in industries such as the
chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and electronic ones. The
company has developed a Pervaporation module,
using a proprietary hollow fiber ion exchange membrane for its
sophisticated solvent separations.
The membrane module prototype has been successfully tested in
dehydration of a wide range of organic solvents including IPA,
Ethanol, THF, Acetone, MEK, NMP, Ethyl Lactate and others, as
well as separations of Methanol-Toluene mixtures, Methanol-MTBE
and others.

ADVANTAGES
of the proposed membranes over existing, commercially
available pervaporation membranes:
1) The hollow fiber configuration lends the membrane higher
packing density, thus enabling production of modules at a lower
price per unit product.
2) The unique ion-exchange structure is expected to enable
organic-organic separations beside dehydration, thus widening
considerably the application range.

PROJECT STATUS
The project has completed its incubator period.
A pilot plant has been built and runs at the company's site in
Ashkelon, dehydrating solvents from industry. This part of the
development has been funded by The Canadian -Israeli Industrial
Research and Development Fund (CIIRDF).
The plant is now ready for testing on-site at interested clients'
facilities.
A business plan and techno-economical analyses have been made.

COOPERATION REQUIRED
Pervasiv Ltd. is seeking strategic investment and cooperation for
the manufacturing and marketing of their product, and for
continued R&D of the company.
