PROJECT SUMMARY
CorAssist is a medical technology company developing novel
solutions for the new emerging market of Diastolic Heart Failure
(DHF) - a Diastolic Assist Device.

About 5 million patients in the US suffer from heart failure.
Over 40% of these patients, suffering from diastolic heart
failure, do not have any effective treatment at this time. The
CorAssist Diastolic Assist Device may offer new hope for these
patients.
Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a clinical syndrome in which
heart failure is accompanied by the symptoms and signs of
pulmonary and/or peripheral congestion. Diastolic Heart Failure
is characterized by the inability of the left ventricle to relax
properly and fill with blood, due to stiffening and impaired
relaxation. Numerous epidemiological studies have confirmed that
nearly half of subjects with heart failure in the community have
diastolic heart failure and that its prognosis is poor.

The CorAssist technology enables the reduction of filling
pressure in the left ventricle, thus reducing the pressures
within the left atrium and the pulmonary vasculature and
preventing pulmonary congestion and edema.
