Project title: EARLY DETECTION OF ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE BY ADAPTIVE SOFTWARE AND BIOMETRIC SIGNALS

Company name : NEXSIG, NEUROLOGICAL EXAMINATION TECHNOLOGIES LTD.

EXAMINATION TECHNOLOGIES LTD.

TECHNOLOGICAL FIELD
Medical software

KEY WORDS
Alzheimer's Disease, Early
Detection, Alzheimer's Diagnosis,
Human Computer Interaction, Biometric Signal Processing

PROJECT SUMMARY
Early diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) becomes imperative,
due to development of new therapies. The world is aging and the
health systems cannot accommodate the growing number of persons
who need/wish to be checked for AD.

NexSig solution: computerized, self-administered
neuropsychological tests, using the computer standard accessories
as sensors for changes in cognitive performance.

NexSig edge: Existing software requires a clinician/instructor
for explanations and comments. This reduces the uniformity of the
presentation and increases the time and costs involved.
Furthermore, in existing software the performance may depend on
tested subjects' computer experience, which reduces the desired
analysis authenticity. Adaptive algorithms adjust both the tests
administration interface and the test performance analysis to
each subject individually, based on on-line measurement of each
subject's interaction patterns. The performance analysis is based
on advanced pattern recognition and classification algorithms.

PROJECT STATUS
Finalized a commercially available product.
Validated NexAde by 2 clinical studies, which included over 1,500
subjects. The results of first study were published in January
2007 in the peer-reviewed journal: Alzheimer's and Dementia and
the results of the second study will be published in the coming
months in the peer-reviewed Current Alzheimer's Research journal.
Received 2 initial orders from medical centers in the Czech
Republic and Israel.
Dikla insurance company is commercially using NexAde in the past
6 months.
3 renown medical institutions have recognized the clinical
benefits of NexAde and will begin commercial use of the system in
the coming months:
* Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA.
* The geriatric clinics of Maccabi Health Services.
* Mid-Atlantic Geriatrics, Manchester, NJ.
Signed distribution agreements with Israeli distributors in the
clinics and long-term care insurance markets.
On July 2007 NexSig raised US $786,000 from a list of investors
including Uzia Galil, the Izikson family, and Revital Aviram who
will also serve at the BOD. Also joined the BOD Yossi Ben Yossef
and Dr. Boaz Tadmor the general manager of Belinson Hospital.

COOPERATION REQUIRED
