PROJECT SUMMARY
Sequencing of the human genome led to a massive flow of novel
genes with potential therapeutic properties. These newly
discovered genes, led to the need for more rapid and efficient
ways of screening for lead compounds/drugs with therapeutic
properties. The company develops rapid and highly effective
functional genomic approaches for identifying new molecular
pathways and lead compounds/drugs for interference with the
progression of various inflammatory diseases, such as: Asthma,
Atherosclerosis, Graft -rejection, AIDS, Multiple Sclerosis and
others. During the last year, the company signed a license
agreement on a lead product that was proven to block various
pathways, leading to various inflammatory diseases. This lead
product was also approved for evaluation in humans in treatment
of psoriasis and a pilot study in this area is soon to begin.
Using the new developed technologies, the company identified
about 150 small molecules with the potential to interfere with
the progression of various inflammatory diseases. Starting
bio-validation of these molecules, already proved the company's
concept that the revolutionary screening and targeting platforms
developed, enable the identification of novel inflammatory,
cancer-related and genetic disease-molecular pathways and
antagonists.

PROJECT STATUS
The project started in August 2000 and is in the second year of

COOPERATION REQUIRED
* Short term: Collaboration with genomic or proteomic-oriented
biotechnology companies for the development of the lead
compounds/drugs; Therapy-specific collaboration with
pharmaceutical companies aimed at identifying lead compounds
within specific therapy field; Financing partner.
* Long term: Industrial collaboration for a joint development of
the company's various lead compounds.
