Project title: NON-INVASIVE COMPUTER-CONTROLLED DEVICE FOR THE RELIEF OF HEAD AND NECK PAIN

Company name : HEADWAY LTD.

TECHNOLOGICAL FIELD
Robotic Medical Device,
Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation

KEY WORDS
Headache/Neck Pain, Muscle
Relaxation, Computer-Controlled Robotic Device, Physical / Manual
Therapy

PROJECT SUMMARY
HEADWAY's breakthrough device, Occiflex, is an oscillating
robotic headrest for the treatment of chronic head and neck pain.
Occiflex mimics the techniques of physical therapists, providing
a safe, noninvasive and cost-effective therapeutic solution.
A robotic cradle moves the head gently along a predefined 3D
course, shrinking neck muscle contraction, reducing pain and
increasing the neck's range of motion. Occiflex employs real-time
electromyography (EMG) data to provide optimal, naturally
therapeutic treatment.

Occiflex offers the following significant advantages over other
solutions:
* Device Therapy: Non-invasive, naturally therapeutic, gentle and
safe
* Muscular Treatment: Restores normal neck muscle activation
patterns
* Treatment Optimization: Uses real-time patient data to provide
optimal treatment
* Efficient reduction in pain: Passive movement, enabling a
significant decrease of head and neck muscle activation which is
crucial for a full span of muscle relaxation
* User Experience: Occiflex treatment is expected to create a
positive experience that will leave the patient eager to come
back for treatment
* Cost Effectiveness: Occiflex has the flexibility and mobility
to be attached to an existing treatment table

MARKET
The primary population to benefit from Headway's solutions
comprises mainly patients suffering from the following
conditions:
* Chronic neck pain (whiplash, myofacial pain)
* Post-traumatic and cervicogenic headaches
* Chronic Daily Headache - migraine and tension-type headache
(TTH) subtypes

The total cumulative size of Headway's head and neck pain market
is about 45 million people in the United States, and even more in
Europe. This market does not include sub-acute patients who
suffer from conditions such as migraines and TTH which are not
defined as chronic, but could definitely benefit from the retail
product.
The Company will bring two devices to market: the full-featured
Occiflex Professional for physical therapy and pain management
facilities, and a less expensive home-use version, OcciHome.
OcciHome will incorporate unique features that target the large
homecare market.

ENTREPRENEUR
Dr. Yaron River - Head of
the Pain Treatment Center at the Bnei-Zion (Rothschild) Medical
Center in Haifa, Israel.

PROJECT STATUS
Headway started its incubator period in December 2006. The
Company is in R&D, pre-sales stage. Alpha Prototype was tested
successfully on healthy volunteers;
Headway received the final approval (from the Israeli Ministry of
Health) to initiate an Open Clinical Trial for Safety and
Efficacy with our prototype at Bnei Zion Medical Center, and
started recruiting patients (12/2008).
Beta prototype to be completed Q1/2009. Business plan, including
regulatory and reimbursement plans available.

COOPERATION REQUIRED
Strategic partners and investors.
