PROJECT SUMMARY
High Tech Lipids Ltd. is developing a breakthrough lipid emulsion
for total parenteral nutrition (TPN). TPN, intravenous (IV)
nutrition, is a critical factor in the medical treatment of
patients who are unable to receive adequate nutrition through the
gastrointestinal tract, particularly premature and term infants,
cancer patients, and the critically ill. TPN contains all
essential nutrients: glucose, amino acids, lipids (fatty acids),
vitamins, and minerals. Lipid emulsions available today are
highly problematic: the incomplete, imbalanced fatty acid content
produces clinical and metabolic complications and the large
droplet size necessitates large filter apertures in IV devices -
enabling penetration of bacteria and other hostile elements into
the bloodstream.
HTL has developed the first lipid emulsion to be "tailored"
specifically to patient needs by combining all the necessary
fatty acids that are placed at the appropriate position on the
glycerol. This novel molecular structure reduces the size of
emulsion droplets, enabling the use of smaller filters for better
protection against microorganisms. The reduced the risk of
infection and related complications lowers health care costs and
eases patient suffering.
HTL's innovative lipid emulsion is the result of over 20 years of
clinical TPN experience and is based on breakthroughs in lipid
restructuring biotechnology. HTL's new generation TPN solution is
formulated according to pre-defined requirements using a
biosynthesis process.
HTL's proprietary formula is designed to meet the needs of a wide
range of patients of all age groups - with special consideration
given to the requirements of preterm and term infants and of
children. The Company believes its new immuno-nutrition lipid
will also assist AIDS patients.
ADVANTAGES
include:
* Smaller droplet size
* Better microorganism filtration (with a smaller filter)
* Increased emulsion stability
* Extended emulsion shelf life
* Significant cost savings - from improved treatment and reduced
infection

PROJECT STATUS
The Company entered the incubator in 2004.
HTL has completed development of the structured lipid and
emulsification procedure. Analyses from leading expert
laboratories in Germany and Scotland have shown that HTL has
attained the desired structure and composition.
Pre-clinical safety trials in animal models were successfully
accomplished.
COOPERATION REQUIRED
HTL seeks strategic partners and financial investment.
