PROJECT SUMMARY
Production of electric power from biomass is a major challenge
for developed countries faced with the need to reduce greenhouse
gas emissions. Olive processing waste is known for its high
energy content, its harmful environmental effects, and for the
difficulties in treating it.
Genova is developing an innovative approach, that combines highly
efficient pyrolysis and gasification to treat olive processing
waste, enabling generation of electric power in small and cost
efficient units.
The same approach can be used for efficient generation of power
from other sources of biomass.

PROJECT STATUS
The project has started its incubator period in July 2004 and has
completed development of an advanced prototype. The company has
cooperation agreements with the Israel Electric Corporation and
with a leading olive processing plant.

Strategic partners. Financial Investment for establishment of a
pilot facility.
