PROJECT SUMMARY
ORTHOMECHANICS LTD. has developed a Spatial Hip Screw (SHS)
intended for treating fractures of the proximal femur - currently
treated by dynamic hip screws and plates and proximal femoral
nail systems. The screw is stabilized inside the capsule by
anchors expanding to form a spatial structure. This reduces the
cut-out phenomenon and improves rotational stability of the
implant.

engineer, who has overseen a number of successful medical
projects.
Mr. Avraham Shekalim - experienced inventor, specialist
in the medical device field.
Mr. Zvika Rubinstein - experienced medical
entrepreneur and business developer.


PROJECT STATUS
The Project has completed its incubator period with an initial
prototype already available prior to incubator period. Proof of
concept prototyping and initial mechanical testing are under way.
Animal trials are planned for the second year of the incubator
period.
US patent no. 6,575,973, applied for and received prior to the
incubator period.
