Project title: HARSH ENVIRONMENT PROOF ANTI-TERRORIST ELECTRONIC FENCE
Company name : INTELGUARD LTD.
TECHNOLOGICAL FIELD
Homeland security
KEY WORDS
Detection, Homeland
Security, Range
PROJECT SUMMARY
Intrusion of protected areas is a well known phenomenon despite
the various security measures taken. Constant efforts are made to
overcome the drawbacks inherent in the existing means, including
low reliability, lots of false alarms, difficulties in
installation and maintenance, etc.
The existing means of protection are primarily based on the
following principles:
* Visible light or IR or LASER beam.
* Thermal detector.
* Volume detection.
* Acoustic detector.
* Range (distance) detection.
* Chemical detection.
* Mechanical detection (Contact, vibration etc..).
All of the above-mentioned technological solutions create a
digital signal, which is fed into a computer. The computer
analyses the signal, and indicates the specific event that took
place.
In order to overcome those disadvantages, INTELGUARD has
developed an innovative solution called The Transparent Optical
Curtain (TOC). The TOC system is based on an innovative
technology that has not yet been applied to security fences. The
system utilizes IR light and produces an analog signal using
highly sensitive amplifiers within linear range.
The amplifiers are placed approximately 2 meters high on poles
ranged 200 meters apart. The system consists of 8
transmitting/receiving units creating 64 crossing lines. The
system requires no wiring, and is fed by solar cells with a
backup power source, sufficient for one week of operation.
ADVANTAGES
* Analog optical beam avoids false alarm even in harsh weather
conditions.
* No energy source needed (each pole has its own solar cell).
* Low production cost.
* Able to withstand harsh environmental conditions.
* No wiring infrastructure needed whatsoever.
