PROJECT SUMMARY
The company develops a new Hydro Dynamically Active Layer (HDAL)
technology for implementation in a Fluid Bed Dryer system. PTT is
aiming at the development of a highly efficient heat dryer based
upon modification of the fluid bed dryer. PTT modifies the
current fluid bed dryer enabling it to dry faster and consume
less energy. PTT's technology is based on the Bernoulli effect in
aerodynamics.

APPLICATIONS
AND TARGET MARKETS
The HDAL technology can be implemented in chemical,
pharmaceutical, biochemical, polymers, food, and dairy production
lines.

ADVANTAGES
The HDAL technology can be applied over a wide range of linear
flow rates of gases and polydisparity of the solid phase,
providing high homogeneity over all sections of the apparatus,
unlike conventional fluid beds. The high relative velocities of
the interactive phases result in an enhancement of heat transfer
coefficients. Another advantageous phenomenon of the HDAL
technology is the mechanical tear-away of moisture from the
surfaces of the solid particles, caused by high relative speeds
of the interacting phases. Consequently, the amount of moisture
in the drying agent exiting the apparatus remarkably exceeds (6-8
times) the amount limited for the mass exchange under conditions
of convective diffusion.
