PROJECT SUMMARY
At present, there is a problem in creating large, flat,
relatively cheap advertising fields that can operate effectively
in conditions of strong natural or electrical light. In the
framework of this project, a multi-purpose (passive-active)
advertising billboard, based on a new principle, is being
developed. The innovation in the proposed board is based on the
use of light modulating material in the form of a thin film of
vanadium oxide, disposed on a planar substrate. Vanadium oxides
act as metals below a certain threshold temperature (about 60øC)
and as semiconductors above this temperature. The company's
appliance exploits an optical property of Vanadium Oxides that
enables to modulate light reflectance.

APPLICATIONS
AND TARGET MARKETS
Indoor and outdoor advertising, diagram, information and
indicator boards. Moving message signs, data displays, etc. Road
and streets signs, including controlled ones.

ADVANTAGES
A wide range of advertising field sizes - from a few sq. cm. up
to huge areas. The application can operate effectively under both
natural and electric illumination in the passive mode (by light
reflection). In addition, boards can be easily equipped, as an
option, with a developed supplementary component that generates
light by itself (active mode). It can thus operate at night
without external light sources. Color images with both smooth and
intermittent color changing can be obtained.
