PROJECT SUMMARY
Development of organic, conducting, electro-active materials for
use in advanced technology charge storage devices, to improve
performance, namely, specific capacity and energy density. The
new materials will reduce weight and size of the power source.

PRODUCTS AND MARKETING
:
ELESTOR LTD. is developing a new generation of composite active
materials for electrochemical supercapacitors based on organic
conducting polymers. These materials show high energy and power
density and good environmental stability. The properties of such
materials can be tailored to specific requirements by changing
the synthesis procedure.
The product under development is a non-battery back-up power
source, aimed for applications in microcomputers, for actuators,
relays, solenoid starters, LED displays, toys, electric buzzers,
the secondary power source for elimination of undesirable voltage
drops, for motor start of VCRs, video disks and record players.
In electrically driven vehicles the supercapacitor may serve as a
power source operating in parallel with the battery, for
smoothing the battery load by providing the power required for
pulses of peak power.
