Project title: ADVANCED MICRO-MACHINING TECHNOLOGY FOR CAPACITIVE ACCELEROMETERS
Company name : MICMA ENGINEERING LTD.
TECHNOLOGICAL FIELD
MEMS
KEY WORDS
Capacitive Accelerometers,
MEMS sensors, Micro-machining, MEMS
PROJECT SUMMARY
MICMA Engineering Ltd. is developing an innovative high accuracy
and rugged, capacitive accelerometers. Accelerometers are used to
measure acceleration, angular rate, vibrations, and tilt
(inclination). They supply the electrical signal which enables to
controls devices in hundreds of applications, in a fast growing
market.
MICMA's accelerometer is manufactured by Micro-ElectroMachining
System (MEMS) technology.
The sensors will feature superior characteristics (in
sensitivity, shock resistance, thermal stability etc.).
Applications:
* Automotive applications (air bags, safety & security devices,
engine & suspension sensors, etc.).
* Aerospace Systems.
* Angular rate & Inclination sensors.
This technology is suitable also for other sensing devices e.g.
pressure gauges, tilting sensors etc.
MARKET
In the preliminary phases MICMA will market its sensing devices
to companies that produce and market accelerometer systems. After
forming a joined-venture, the company will be able to intensify
its production facilities to market complete products.
ENTREPRENEUR
Mr. Michael Reznik - Inventor, vast experience in developing
microelectronics technologies.
PROJECT STATUS
MICMA Engineering Ltd. was established in May 1998.
A prototype, of 5g full scale, was completed. Sensitivity of
0.17mg was measured.
The project has finished the second year of incubation and
continue its R&D efforts.
COOPERATION REQUIRED
The company seeks cooperation with a strategic partner for
manufacturing and marketing of accelerometers.
